The Slopfather's Code

Rules for submitting to The Sloppies

The Mission

The Sloppies exists to celebrate the best of the worst AI-generated content on the internet — not to shame the people who made it or shared it. We punch up at bad AI, not down at people. Keep that in mind as you submit.

These guidelines exist to keep this place worth visiting. Read them. The Slopfather has eyes everywhere.

What We're Looking For

A great Sloppies submission has three qualities:

1

Obviously AI-generated

The slop tells should be clear enough that a reasonable person can spot them with some guidance. Mystery is fine. Ambiguity is not.

2

Unintentionally terrible

We celebrate accidental slop, not deliberate parody. Italian Brainrot is art. A LinkedIn CEO with 12 fingers is a Sloppie.

3

Publicly available

Content that was published publicly, not private messages, direct communications, or personal accounts with small followings.

The best submissions make you laugh first, then teach you something about spotting AI. That's the whole game.

Static Image Submissions

Accepted formats

JPG, PNG, WEBP, GIF (static)

Max file size

10MB

Min resolution

800px shortest side

What makes a great image submission:

  • Clear AI artifacts: finger crimes, impossible anatomy, melting text, physics violations
  • Enough context to understand WHY it's slop
  • Original source URL if available (helps verification)
  • Your commentary on the slop tells (optional but encouraged)

Image-specific rules:

  • Do not submit cropped images that remove attribution or context
  • Screenshots must include enough surrounding UI to establish source
  • Do not edit, enhance, or add artifacts to images before submitting
  • Watermarked images are fine — do not remove watermarks

Video Submissions

NEW

Video slop is now eligible for The Sloppies. The same principles apply, with some additional considerations.

Accepted submission format

URL only — YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, Twitter/X, Reddit. We do not accept video file uploads.

What makes a great video submission:

  • Visible AI artifacts: physics violations, anatomical errors, temporal inconsistencies
  • Fake surveillance or CCTV aesthetic used to mask AI generation
  • AI-generated food or cooking content with impossible physics
  • AI news anchors or "reporter" formats with obvious tells
  • Timestamp or specific moment reference if the slop only appears briefly

Video-specific rules:

  • Submitted URLs must be publicly accessible without login
  • Content must be the original source, not a reaction video or commentary
  • Deepfakes of private individuals will not be accepted under any circumstances
  • Videos containing graphic violence, sexual content, or content targeting children for harm will be rejected and reported
  • AI-generated political propaganda MAY be accepted in the Slopaganda category with additional editorial review — do not assume automatic approval

A note on video verification

Video slop is harder to verify than images. We may take longer to moderate video submissions. If your submission is rejected for “unable to verify,” try resubmitting with a timestamp and specific description of the artifact.

What Gets Rejected — No Exceptions

The following content will be rejected immediately and may result in your email being blocked from future submissions:

Deepfakes of private individuals

Real people who have not voluntarily entered public life. No exceptions.

Sexual content of any kind

Including AI-generated imagery that sexualizes real or fictional individuals.

Content targeting or harming minors

This includes AI-generated children's content designed to manipulate or harm children. We document and report this category rather than award it.

Non-consensual intimate imagery

AI-generated or otherwise.

Content designed to defame a specific private individual

We are here to mock bad AI, not to be a harassment tool.

Content you created yourself

We celebrate found slop, not commissioned slop. Don't submit your own work.

Private communications

DMs, emails, or content from private accounts. If it wasn't published publicly, it's not eligible.

Duplicate submissions

Check the current nominees before submitting. If it's already there, vote for it instead.

Every submission is reviewed by a human before it appears on the site. The Slopfather personally reviews all content.
